Quote of the Day

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You can not help the poor by destroying the rich. You can not keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You can not build character and courage by taking away man's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

  1. This is fantastic! I read it through a couple of times. I'm sure Abraham Lincoln would be shocked and saddened by the socialism and lack of accountability that exists today. Where are men like Abe in politics today? Thanks for sharing Steph!

  2. This made me laugh because it reminded me of my best friend in high school. Every time she had to give a spiritual thought in any meeting, mutual, etc. she would say, "Blowing out someone else's candle doesn't make yours shine brighter." It is a great quote, but because she used it every week it became a joke.

    A great quote, though :)
