Howard Lyon Photo Shoot

Howard sent me these cool shots from the photo shoot he did of Sara. He only shared a few with us; he took tons.  He did his latest painting of her from this session. There will be a series of three paintings of Sara as "Cassandra, princess and prophetess of Troy."
We are excited to see the next two paintings.

Max snuck into this one.

He's so incredibly talented!

Happy Birthday Sara!!!!

Monday, I let Laney and Susanna ditch school. Their grades had closed the previous Wednesday, and they had only been watching movies and playing games in class. The boys had a short day for finals and got home at 9:45 am. We invited Sebastian over to play with us. It had been months since we had him over. We fed him cheese grits and scrambled eggs. It was his first time eating grits, and he liked them. It's always a party with Sebastian. He is just a bright and happy guy.

Then we all went to the new model homes by the girls school. There is an awesome playground there, so we tried it out. The weather was insanely wonderful!!! It was a high of 71 degrees. We were wearing jackets and long sleeves on the 20th of May!!! It was a BEAUTIFUL day!

Tuesday, I watched little Fred, Daphne and Freia. Gram was taking care of them while Cadie was at work, but she needed to do some work at Kenny and Amanda Blakeley's rental home, so I had them come play with us.  They are such cuties!

Wednesday, May 22nd and the weather was still gorgeous!! 1:08 pm and only 75 degrees!!!

Sara and I decided to take advantage of the cool breezes and went to Home Depot for some summer flowers for our front yard.

We loved the colors of these ones!

Then we went and got her birthday sandwich at Red Robin. She got the Bruschetta Chicken sandwich and fries. I got the Haystack Double burger and a salad.

Freddy and Daniel helped Sara and I plant the flowers when we got home. We are excited for them to grow and fill the beds with lots of blossoms for summer!

Gazanias

We have one final blossom from my irises! This has been a long blooming season for them.

The Celosia has such a cool bloom. It's feathery like and kind of looks like crystals.

Love my yellow gladiolas!

Susanna's teacher gave her this award. She is kind and brilliant, just what we need in a president.

Friday night, just before 11:00 pm, I sent Freddy next door, to Jessi's house, to get Susanna. She had been there for hours and it was time for bed. On his way over, he saw Lilli coming toward our house. She was coming to our house to get Gwen. At this point, we realized that the girls were not at either house. We spent the next 45 minutes, driving around the neighborhood (in 4 different cars) and searching our houses inside and out. After running out of places to look, Jessi was ready to call the cops. Richard and I said that we should go check Jessi's backyard one more time. Jessi assured us that she had looked and yelled their names. When we got there, Tori checked and found them sound asleep on the trampoline. Jessi said she had looked from the back door and shouted so loud that she didn't think she could have missed them, but they were deep asleep.
We were just glad that they were ok.

Sara and Lilly drove around in one car, Freddy and Daniel in another, Jessi in hers, and Dad and I in mine. It was a crazy night!

Friday, was Sara's 19th birthday!!!

Jacob came by to wish her happy birthday, and then took Sara and I out for brunch.
He gave her a few cute gifts, mostly representing inside jokes, including this sunhat to keep her from burning. He's a sweet guy, and a good friend

Sara and I took a birthday nap, and Dad, Laney and Zanna played the Zelda game on Nintendoland. They love hanging out with Daddy!

When we woke up, we did some birthday shopping. We found this AWESOME book while we were out! It was made for Sara. This is her life.

Sam and Vivi came over on Saturday morning. We love to have them!

They brought me some beautiful lilies. My favorite color!

Then we helped Gavin and Cadie move in just down the path from us. It was the best move ever!!

Richard crushed his hand between the corner of the counter and a chest of drawers. It looked worse in person. It is going to turn all kinds of pretty colors.

Freia, Fred, Peter and Daphne inside the moving truck.

That night we went to Rizek Housari's wedding reception. We have known the Housari family for a long time. Sis. Housari was Laney's 5th grade teacher. They really love each other.

The dancing was a lot of fun and the Palestinian food was amazing!

Laney, Sara and Mariyah Housari dancing the night away!

Sam and Vivi didn't know about the reception, so they just came in what they were wearing for moving Gavin. The Housari's love Sam and were happy to see him and Vivi.

Dad danced a bunch as well, of course.

Sunday morning at church, we were thrilled to have Gavin, Cadie and their gang with us at church.
Having them so close might be way too much fun!

Have to squeeze in pics with this girl as much as I can before she leaves ONE MONTH FROM TODAY!

Sara was wearing a new dress that Sis. Fechter gave her. It is stunning on her. We kept trying to get a good picture of it, but it was soooo windy today, we couldn't keep her hair out of her face.
This one turned out the best. It's pretty cute, even with the wind.

Baby Sammy is coming to meet the family today. Josh bought a plane ticket for Leigh's birthday, so she could come spend time with us and her family. Everyone is dying with anticipation!!!

He is ADORABLE!!!!
These are his one month pictures.

Home again, home again

Sara and I came home from Utah on Laney's 13th birthday. When we got home, she was still out celebrating with her friends at Uptown Alley.

Luv, Avery, Monica and Laney

When she got home, we gave her presents!

Swim suits, shirts, shoes, necklaces, perfume, scrunchies and maskara

We also brought home some rocks for Andrew. That was his one request, rocks from Utah and Idaho.

The next morning I fixed the washing machine. The day after Sara and I left on our trip, it broke. The water wouldn't drain and after sitting there for a week it really didn't smell good. I scooped and hauled out over 10 gallons of grossness. Then removed the pump and opened it up to see what the problem was.

This was what was keeping the pump from turning. It is a metal point, for a men's dress shirt collar.
We now have a working machine and clean, fresh smelling clothes again!

Cousin Stephanie Spooner mailed this cute bracelet to Laney with a sweet note.

That evening, Dad and I took Laney out for her birthday dinner at Macayo's.  She is such a silly sunshine! They came to our table to sing to her and they asked her how old she wanted to be. I was confused by the question, but Laney spoke right up and said 18. They sang their Macayo's birthday song and said she was turning 18. I guess she is is turning 18, in 5 years. Hahaha!

The rest of the kids were at Tommy's house, celebrating his graduation. They tried swimming, but the weather has been so awesomely weird, in the low 70s, that it was way too cold.

The decorations were super cute, and there were tons of treats and yummy foods.

Makaila was with us, even though she is serving her mission in Washington DC right now.
She was watching over Dad while he took a little nap.

Me and Freddy

Tommy and Noah

Me, Zanna, Laney, Tommy and Sara

Tommy said he would autograph and give this to Sara, but he didn't. They were pretty funny about it.

Lilly and Sara loving on Makaila's head, with Tommy's body

Saturday, Dad and the kids cleaned out the garage. I told them I really would love to have it clean, and that this might be the last Saturday of beautiful weather. They did a fabulous job!

Sunday afternoon, Sara curled Daniel's hair for seminary graduation. It was super fun! Poor Daniel didn't get the curly hair gene like the rest of his brothers. He didn't even get waves like Josh.

What a cutie!

I love getting pictures from Leigh of their little family. Baby Sammy is growing way too fast!

So bright-eyed!

I love this one! His cute little arms and legs don't even wrap around Daddy's head.
