Thursday... Arlington National Cemetery

In front of the Blakeley manor

The Arlington National Cemetery visitors center

The Kennedy's graves and the eternal flame

The views were amazing, you can see the Washington Monument in the background.

Sir John Dill's tomb, we had to look him up.
(25 December 1881 – 4 November 1944) was a senior British Army officer with service in both the First World War and the Second World War. From May 1940 to December 1941 he was the Chief of the Imperial General Staff, the professional head of the British Army, and subsequently in Washington, as Chief of the British Joint Staff Mission and then Senior British Representative on the Combined Chiefs of Staff, played a significant role during the Second World War in the formation of the "special relationship" between the United Kingdom and the United States.

The view from in front of the Custis / Lee Mansion.

Arlington House, The Robert E. Lee Memorial, formerly named the Custis-Lee Mansion, is a Greek revival style mansion located in Arlington, Virginia, United States that was once the home of Confederate General Robert E. Lee and Mary Custis (George Washington's great-granddaughter). It overlooks the Potomac River and the National Mall in Washington, D.C. During the American Civil War, the grounds of the mansion were selected as the site of Arlington National Cemetery, in part to ensure that Lee would never again be able to return to his home. However, the United States has since designated the mansion as a National Memorial to Lee, a mark of widespread respect for him in both the North and South. Arlington Woods, located behind Arlington House, contains the oldest and largest tract of climax eastern hardwood forest that still exists in Arlington County.

Looking back at the mansion.

We loved our day at Arlington Cemetery.  It was touching and beautiful.  I'm so grateful for all those who have given their lives for our families and country.

Tim found a new car in the parking lot. Andrew actually, unknown to me at the time, hopped in the car and took a selfie. Naughty boy!

That night we went to 8 stores looking for a souvenir hat for Andrew, with no luck.  We should have gotten something when we were downtown.  He did have fun walking around Target in the Deadpool pajamas.

Freddy found a hat he liked, but we didn't need a $25 hat.

Wednesday... Beach, Beach, Beach!!!

Such a beautiful sunrise! Sara and Amanda got up and left for Breezy Beach at 5:30 this morning to search for shark teeth

After last night's storm there was great pickings. They came home with lots of fossils and teeth

After lunch we went to Beverly Beach. How wonderful to have shade trees and a beach all together!

Tim and Sara found a horseshoe crab. He looked so much like a dinosaur!

We thought Andrew was taking a picture of my mom and I, but he was talking selfies. Beautiful!

Momma had to growl to get him to take the pic we wanted.

Finally! Proof that we are here enjoying the beach.

The small speck between the sail boats is Tim and Sara in a kayak. I zoomed in so i could see them.

There way it actually looked. Tim and Sara were so far out in the Chesapeake bay!

Freddy found a dead crab.

Caught some jellyfish while they were out in the kayak. Tim got stung on the shoulder. Freddy got stung on the wrist in the shallows.

Andrew looked like a lobster!

Holding a tiny tiny fish

Tim making a kiddie pool on the beach.

My mom is the cutest!!!

The osprey nest was super cool and huge! It was easily 4 or 5 feet wide.  There were tons of little birds living in the underside of the nest too.

Freddy gone native!  The kids played with this red thing all week.  We finally found out that is is a potholder.

Grown up Vietnamese dinner date. We love our Blakeleys!
