Daniel's Birthday Party - FINALLY

Poor Daniel!  His birthday was in March, but so is everyone else's apparently, because there were no free weekends to have his party.  We tried for April, but again, just too many activities until the last Saturday of the month.  We were good to go, and then Daniel started throwing up the day before.  So, after a few tears and lots of patience, we finally had Daniel's party at the beginning of May, two months late.

It was Cinco de Mayo so we decorated with big fiesta flowers.

Dandi, and all the kids, helped clean up the extra frosting.  They are so sweet!

I don't know why, but I get stressed out about entertaining younger kids at parties.  I can feed them and decorate for them, but I get overwhelmed with running a party and doing the games, so I called up my dear sister Dandi.  She loves party games and is great at making it fun for the kiddos.  She is wise too.  While having them play pin the head on the lego guy she also had an "I Spy" the lego men game for them to play.  No standing around bored while waiting for your turn.

They played Pass the Parcel.  It is basically layer after layer of tissue paper wrapped up, a different color for each layer, and a gift wrapped in each layer.  It's like hot potato with music, and when it stops who ever is holding the parcel gets to unwrap one layer.  Inside the layer there is a prize and a slip of paper saying some silly thing you have to do to keep the prize.  We worked it out so everyone got a prize.  It was a lot of fun.

Here are some pictures of the kids doing the silly things to get their prizes.

Ttrying to do a handstand

Flapping his arms while saying, "I can fly, I can fly"

I can't remember if he had to be scared or if he was scaring us.

Giving her arm a zerbert

I have no idea what he was doing, but he looks rediculous!

Jumping like a frog

Doing push ups

Being a zombie

Daniel had a wonderful time with all his friends, so I claim success!  I really am grateful to Dandi for being the fun master.  It made it possible for me to take pictures and enjoy watching Daniel.  And thanks to everyone who came.  We love having you as a part of our lives!

Lots of Cuteness!

Gram and Papa gave this cute dress up dress to Susanna for her birthday.  She LOVES it!!!
She did a modeling session for me.  She wanted lots of pictures taken.  They turned out super cute!

Isn't she pretty?!

I love my little girly girl!  I am sad to see her growing up so fast!

A Bunch of Crazies!

The kids had a couple of broken jiggly balls.  They have been using them as wigs.  Creative and super silly!

It has been wonderful to have the yard finished.  The kids have spent a lot of time running around out there.

Sam Runs For Student Council

Sam ran for Junior Class Secretary.  He really wants to be a part of Student Council next year and you have to run  even if you just want to be a representative.  Sam worked hard making his gigantic poster for his campaign.  It was about 5' x 6'.  I thought he did a great job drawing it out and then an amazing paint job.

He didn't win, but he is super excited about working on the student council next year.  I am so proud to have kids that are not afraid to try out for anything and really go for it when they want something.  Love you Sammy!

Tomatoes!

I love tomato season!  We have been getting lots of yummy tomatoes out of the garden lately.  There is just nothing like tomatoes fresh out of the garden!  We were also given about 60 pounds of  tomatoes a few weeks ago.  I wasn't planning on canning that weekend, but when you get a gift like that, how can you not just make time.  It was busy, but lots of fun to work in the kitchen with my Honey and Tim.  It really went pretty fast with the three of us.

Tim loves to help around the house and especially in the kitchen.  He loves to cook and bake.  He often will make pancakes or biscuits for the family.  His biscuits are to die for; so light and fluffy!

It was a great bonding time and now we have lots and lots of canned tomatoes for our pantry.

Cheer Nationals

Sam's cheer team earned a spot at nationals when they competed at regionals last fall.  They competed along with around 300 other teams in Anaheim at Nationals at the end of March.  Dysart's JV cheer team got 7th place in the nation.  We are so proud of Sam and all his hard work.  Cheer is not for the faint-hearted.  It is a year round sport, not just the school year, all summer long as well.  Sam goes to the weight room often as well to build up the muscles he uses to throw the girls around.  He is incredibly strong!

Sam is the guy all the way on the right.

They got to go to Disneyland as well.  Even with all the muscle building, Sam could not pull the sword from the stone no matter how hard he tried.

Lots of fun rides

Love the finger up the nose.

 Oooh, Scary!

This one looks fun.  I am not sure if he is out for a swim with Monstro or trying to attack him.

Way to go Dysart Demons!  Love you Sammy!
