Sam's Temple Day

Before missionaries leave to serve, they are endowed with the blessings of the temple.  It was a sacred and wonderful experience to have with Sam and many of our family members.

We went out for Mexican food afterward. It was great to get to visit and laugh with all these wonderful people!

Huebsch Cousins and Goodbye to Elder Rigby

We watched Gracie and Adam Huebsch, our great niece and nephew, while their parents went to a wedding in Utah.  It was tons of fun.  My kiddos love little ones. I  am sure that  we wore them out with all the love and attention.

Gracie and Adam were with us when we had our farewell fiesta dinner for Elder Rigby.  Elder Rigby and Elder Fackrell are two of our favorite missionaries ever.  They were wonderful missionaries but they were also great with our family.  They fit right in with all us crazies.

They were high school buddies and then got to serve together in the mission field, SO COOL! You can see the love.

Our kids are not very good with boundaries.  When they love someone, they treat them just like one of the family.

Elder Fackrell's crazy eyes are now famous at our house. No one can do them quite as well as the original though.

Elder Rigby was so sweet and loving with the kids.

And so was Elder Fackrell, just a bit more goofy.

Those poor guys spent a lot of time untucking their shirts to find the back magnet for their name tags.  The kids would steal them every chance they got.  We had to start making threats to get them to stop.
The elders were really good sports about it.

These last two pictures the elders took and left for me on my camera.  Such nuts.  We miss them both.

Peter's 2nd Birthday

Cadie and Gavin had every one over to celebrate Peter's 2nd birthday.  We all squeezed into their apartment for breakfast and then went swimming.  It was crowded but fun! Grammy was in Georgia, we missed her.

Look at all those great smiles!

Surgeries and Injuries (Warning Blood and Stitches)

This summer and the beginning of the school year we had several significant wounds in the family.  Just know my side of the family are all weirdos who like to take pictures of injuries and ER visits and such.

Tim had a dark spot removed from his upper lip, just to be safe. The biopsy came back fine. We are still getting use to his face without it.

Laney got her foot caught in the door.  The metal cut her toe open.  When I got to her this is what I found.  Poor girl.  I could tell it wasn't a normal hurt cry, that it was something unusual. She was a brave patient for Dr. Mom.

Nate had a dark mole on the bottom of his foot. The doctor removed it and sent it off to the lab. This is the resulting hole in his foot.

The lab report came back that it was pre-cancer so they had to go back and remove more, with stitches this time.  We love our medical pictures.

The biopsy always heals just in time to be cut open again, it is such a bummer. This was done on the second day of school. Because it was on the bottom of his foot and the stitches couldn't have any pressure without risk of tearing, Nate had to use crutches for almost 3 weeks until it healed enough to walk and not split open. He was such a good sport about it and just tried to enjoy the extra time hanging out with Mom when the other kids were out playing around.
