Summer Fun

The boys filled in for a friend's paper route.  Let me tell you, it was quite an experience.  They worked many hours preparing the papers and then driving around delivering them. They had a lot of fun working together on it though.

Tim took the tops off of some pineapples and rooted them.  They are growing.  He heard it takes a year to grow a pineapple.   We shall see.

I love that my kids are all snugglers.

Laney found a tiny apple.  She thought it was so cool.

Tim spent about $50 on plants for around the house.  I love that he has such a green thumb.  He spends time outside working on the yard everyday too.  He just loves to garden.  He planted all sorts of yummy things in our garden for the fall/winter season.  I can't wait.  He has been picking and frying eggplant from the garden.  It is divine!

Sara all ready for church one Sunday morning.  She is getting so grown up!  And gorgeous!

We went to the Phoenix Temple to see how the construction is coming along.  It is going to be beautiful.  It will be exciting to go through the open house when it is finished.

Sam got this shot.  So pretty!

The July family birthday party was a ton of fun.  Nan had all sorts of fun games prepared.  The kids had a blast.

Susanna found the microphone stand and was going to town singing her heart out.

Laney guessed the closest for how many candies in the jar.  She was delighted to win the candy!

I have the best family!  I love that Dandi and Aaron are so much closer now and can drive up from Tucson for family things.  It was a great summer!

The Rest of Provo in a Really Big Nutshell

The twins and Richard went to the BYU library and enjoyed checking out the 3D printer.  Check it out... there is even a TARDIS, we are such Doctor Who fans.

Exploring a stairwell on BYU campus
The girls spent hours rolling and tying up their cousin Matthew.  He was such a great sport about it.  I think he enjoyed it almost as much as they did.

Susanna spent time teaching Aunt Marilyn how to use the Ipad and taught her some games too.

We took Marilyn and Randy out as a thank you and let them pick.  Randy picked a little Mexican restaurant called El Gallo Giro.  I wasn't too sure about it at first... but it turned out to be super yummy.  I think we will have to go there every time we are in Provo.

The salsa bar and drinks were awesome too.

One of the days, Sara and I sneaked away for some shopping and lunch at Zupa's.  I love their Thai Chicken Sandwich and the Thai Salad and the Thai Lobster Bisque... I really like Thai food.  Their other food is great too.

We went on a 4th of July hike to Bridal Veil Falls.  It was beautiful!

I love this picture!!!

I couldn't believe what a huge dandelion she found.

After our hike we went to Deseret Industries for some second hand shopping.  We got lots of books, a suit coat and a couple of jackets.

While we were there the twins saw a disabled man who worked there.  They both have such big hearts.  They told me they wanted to go over and make friends with him.  He could only talk with the help of a computer that spoke for him.  He couldn't say very much but he LOVED talking with them.  After about 10 minutes it was time to go.  They both broke down in tears after giving him hugs goodbye.  They are amazing boys... so compassionate and caring.  I love that they are not afraid to reach out to others in need.
It was an experience we will never forget.

Uncle Randy got plenty of love while we were there.  His lap was very popular.

4th of July game of Scum with the cousins and Aunt Marilyn

While waiting for the fireworks we got to meet Mindy Gledhill.  We are huge fans of her delightful music and just got her new album Pocketful of Poetry.

Our last day we spent walking around downtown Provo.  We went into antique shops, costume stores, walked by the Provo Tabernacle which is being made into a temple, and enjoyed walking around in the beautiful weather.

The next morning we picked up the boys from Especially For Youth and said our goodbyes to Ashley and Tim's roommate, Zack (he's the tall adorable one in the blue shirt) and their other friends.

These guys sure love this girl.  This big squeeze will have to last them until next summer.

It was another fabulous summer vacation to Utah!
