We've had sick baby girls over the last two weeks. Laney was sick last week and Susanna this week. Now Laney is sick again. Poor sweeties.
Daniel has just been exhausted. He has been working hard on school work and rehearsals for his school show choirs. They are competing in California this weekend.
Leigh came over for family night. It was her last night here before heading back to Idaho and Joshy. We have loved seeing her over the last week. She is such a sunshine!
Tuesday morning, Jacob and Sara went to the temple. There's never a dull moment with the two of them. They made lots of random new friends. It was Sara's first time going with out me.
Tuesday afternoon, Sara, Miles, Josh and I went to the Jacob Collier Masterclass at ASU.
Not only was it filled with musical genius but he also shared so many great perspectives on living a full and fulfilling life, lifting others and serving others with our talents and skills. It was wonderful!!!
He looked a lot like a hipster hobo, but his piano skills are INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!
After the class, we saw a double rainbow. You can barely see a hint of it in the picture, it was fading so quickly. We then did a photo shoot of Sara, Josh took the pics and I filmed him doing it. It is for some photography workshop videos he is creating before he leaves on his mission. It was a lot of fun filming him while he explained his process. I'm excited to see the pictures and the workshop videos!
When we finished filming, we talked and had dinner at Chipotle.
It was probably our last hangout before Josh's mission.
When we got back home, Jacob came over. He was heading to Thatcher to see his family Wednesday morning and wouldn't be back until Saturday. Sara wanted to see him, but was pretty tired.
She passed out.
Wednesday, Dad, Sara and I joined the Jensens (Scott, Debra, Olivia, Josh and Izzy) and Miles at the Jacob Collier concert. We went to Thai Basil to get some dinner to-go for the Jensen crew. Sadly, we had already eaten.
We got to the concert venue, The Van Buren, extra early so that we could be right up front. Jacob Collier is a musician for musicians. He is crazy brilliant with music theory, harmonies, rhythms, etc. His music is pretty unusual, but brilliant! It really is meant to be experience, not just listened to. He really knows how to interact with his audience. Because the people who attend his concerts are almost all musicians, he is able to have us all sing and clap crazy rhythms with him.
It was AMAZING and SO MUCH FUN!!!!
Thursday, we forgot to have Freddy take the car to school and leave us the van, so we all piled in the Prius to go to Daniel's show choir dress rehearsal. It was felt very much like we were driving a clown car. Andrew's girlfriend Lauryn met us there later and help to get everyone back home.
Daniel did an incredible job, as did the whole choir. He is fortunate to attend a school with such an awesome choral program. All of the choirs performed amazingly! It was a ton of fun!
The Bakers and the Summers came too.
We celebrated Daniel's birthday when we got home. We were a little over a week late, but it was the first free night we had that we could all get together. He got some new music books, some clothes and a black suit. He was thrilled.
The shirt was a little big, so he showed us how it could be tucked and folded to be smaller.
He is SOOO silly!
I made homemade mac and cheese and homemade salsa for dinner, and a sugar-free, frozen berry dessert for him. We put all 15 candles in his piece.
He really is an amazing guy. He is hardworking and driven, but so full of life and love. He loves to learn and improve. He loves to serve and lift others. And he loves the Lord and tries to always follow in His ways. I couldn't be more proud of him.
Laney drew this beauty for us. It was an interpretive portrait. Not sure what the interpretation is. Hahaha!
Friday morning at 4:00 am, Daniel met with all the choir kids at the school to take off to California for their show choir competitions. Pictures and results will come next week. He comes back Monday morning. I'm sure he will be wiped out, but he is having a great time.
Friday night, Laney and Susanna went over to the Larson's house for pie night. They stayed late and played lots of games. We have the best friends in our neighborhood! I love that our kids have so many great friends to hang out with.
Taylee Crockett, Henry ?, Averi Jordan, Mia Fleming, Susanna, Rhett Larson, Laney, Coby Larson, Breilyn Costley, Ammon Fleming
Freddy and Sarah went to the movies to see Captain Marvel. They said it was great. They also had fun at the farmers market, trying samples and looking at everything.
Noah and Morgan went to the Renaissance Festival. They were there all day and walked a ton! Noah was pretty tired when he got home, but he wasn't sunburned. I was impressed.
I hadn't seen Andrew much over the last week. Either I was gone or he was. We were both so excited to have some time together Saturday night. He is such a tenderhearted fella. I love him!
Sunday afternoon, we saw a tiny bunny in the backyard. I went to take a picture of it, but my camera was in selfie mode, so we took a selfie first and then a picture of the bunny.
You can't really tell in the picture, but it was hand sized. So CUTE!
