Idaho!!!

Here we are hitting the road to Idaho to see that adorable little baby that Josh and Leigh created. Baby Sammy, here we come!

We drove Thursday evening arriving late in St. George. We stayed at Ken and Karman Wilson's house. They were out of town, so we didn't get to see them.

We stopped in Salt Lake City to do an endowment session at the temple.

We had a while before it was time for our session, so we wandered through the art exhibit at the Church History Building. These were a few of our favorites.

This one is Howard Lyon's "The Widow's Mite."

Sara had never done anything other than baptisms there. It was a beautiful experience, and Elder and Sister Holland were in our session. That was pretty awesome!

We arrived in Rexburg around 8:30 pm and dropped our things off at the Comeau's house. Then we scurried over to see Baby Sammy!!! He is the sweetest little guy. We loved holding him and kissing his cheeks. He is tiny, but super strong. He likes to wiggle and push off of your chest, almost to the point of jumping out of your arms.

Josh made hamburgers for us. They were cute little burgers...

...but not quite cooked all the way. They were pretty raw in the middle. We microwaved them for a minute and then finished eating them. Nobody died and we had a lot of fun.

These next three pictures took place in about 5 seconds. Leigh wanted to have a picture with him next to her cheek, but when she picked him up, it startled him a bit. He didn't cry, but he sure made some funny faces.

He is a  very happy baby, especially when he is being held. And who wouldn't want to hold him ALL OF THE TIME!!!

We took Josh and Leigh to The Hickory for lunch to celebrate her first Mother's Day weekend.
Some how we only took pictures of Josh and Sara and the delicious food.
I promise, Leigh, Sammy and I were there also.

After lunch, we went to the BYU-I campus and walked around the gardens to work off some of those calories. It was beautiful weather, even a touch chilly out.

It was Sammy's first stroller ride. Josh had fun navigating the park with the stroller. It was pretty cute.

These two are such love birds. They make each other light up. I love seeing them so happy!

After the gardens, Josh and Leigh went home for a nap and some homework. Sara and I did some mission shopping and drove back to a field of dandelions we had seen earlier that day. It made us think of her painting of the little girl in the field of dandelions. We took some pictures of Sara in the field, inspired by her painting. It was gorgeous out and we had a lot of fun.

We had a nice time Sunday morning at church with them on Mother's Day. Josh made pork chops for us for lunch with broccoli and potatoes. It was yummy. 

Josh is a sweet daddy and, of course, a goofy daddy. There will be lots of fun in their home, for sure!

Then we went back to the Comeau's for dinner. They made a delicious Indian chicken dish with rice.

And then we had our Mother's Day video call with Tim and all the gang.

It was tons of fun as usual! I love these crazy people!!!!

Then we visited more with the Comeaus. It has been wonderful to reconnect with them after so many years. Love them!

We said goodbye to Josh and Leigh that night, so we could take off first thing in the morning. It was a hard goodbye. Sara won't see Josh for over 18 months, since she leaves for her mission in just over a month. It was a wonderful visit. We love every second, especially holding Baby Sammy!

The next morning we said our goodbyes to the Comeaus. They really are delightful friends. We love staying with them and are so grateful for their hospitality.

We stopped and walked around the temple and falls in Idaho Falls. It was a gorgeous day!

It was a whirlwind weekend, but it was one we will never forget and one we loved so very much!
