Adventures with Daddy

Daniel, Laney, Zanna and I went on a hike up rock creek canyon.
This was a cool, narrow crevice.
Since I was busy with concert week and didn't go on these adventures, I had Richard add the captions. Looks like they had a wonderful time!

The green was wonderful

We loved the snow-melt water.

We spent quite a while at this little waterfall.

We also went to a couple of museums.

The BYU Museum of Paleontology

I love this gator. We learned later in the week that snakes have a split in their jaw to allow them to swallow bigger prey. I wonder if alligators have this too.

Dinosaurs are awesome!

The Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum

Laney tried to look as fierce as Sara did 7 years ago.

The ant interactive exhibit was a hit.

Friday evening we hiked to Steward Falls on the back side of Timpanogos. It was delightful.

I was surprised how chilly it was, especially with the mist coming off the falls.

Daniel and Laney tried to scare me. They ran ahead on the trail and hid waiting to scare me from behind. I foiled them!

This was on the way out. The kids got ahead of me. I saw the sun peeking through the tree before it sunk behind the mountain. It was peaceful and serene. I love nature.

It was chilly so went we got back to the car.

Laney did not want to leave. She loved it so much. While Daniel and Zanna were in the car keeping warm, she made up a game. She would set her watch for 2 minutes, then we both had to find the best "souvenir" laying around in the forest. After the 4th round, I thought I might as well pick up trash. When we compared our souvenirs, she politely said, "well Dad, what you got was pretty much trash but..." I cracked up laughing. Laney is so fun to be around. She won the contest with a gray fleece hat.
