Wrapping up the school year

Sometimes you just need to document a school project before you can throw it away. This was a project Susanna did in her gifted class. They were engineering stairs.

Susanna performed beautifully in her spring concert. They sang several songs and performed on their recorders as well. It has been a great year of music at Legacy Traditional School.

Sam took Laney and I to walk through a $800,000 model home, just for fun. It was beautiful. Sam's favorite part was this walk in shower bath combo. "It has two shower heads, not one." (that's from a silly Youtube video by Jullian Smith)

Sam helped clean up some old wooden pallets we had in the back yard and then made a giant teepee shaped stack in the fire pit. He left it there and spent the weekend with Tim and a Young Adult Conference for our church. The twins and their friends asked if they could have a fire in the fire pit that evening. I told them they could. A little while later I looked out the window and saw a gigantic column of flames. They lit the teepee of wood, with a bit of gasoline. The teepee of wood to start with was at least 6 feet tall and then with the fire it went at least halfway up our second story windows. They used the hose to keep the trees wet so they wouldn't burn. It was so hot that no one could get very close for long.

It was probably not a good idea, but it will be an exciting memory for sure. I did make them put it out when it started leaning toward the house. I didn't want to hurt my trees or destroy our home.

Still hosing it several minutes later. It didn't go completely out for hours and hours.

Tim has graduated from 4 years of early morning seminary! Seminary starts a 5:45 every morning. He has wonderful teachers and has learned so much from them about the scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ. It has been one of his favorite parts of the day. We are so proud of him!
