Back to Routine

Sunday evening, the Larsons invited us over for visiting and dessert. They moved into our neighborhood recently and it was great to get to know them a little better.

Andrew taught Sam how to play Cathedral, one of our new games from Christmas. It's a fun game and it's pretty. I love the wooden pieces!

This week was an adjustment for everyone. Going back to school is so hard! Laney made it to school on Monday, but then was sick the rest of the week with a sore throat and PINK EYE!!! Ugh... It was fun to have her around, but even doing all the take home work we could get for her, she is going to be so behind.

The best part about school starting up again is that I was able to take all the costumes for the play out of my dining room and store them at the school. Hooray!!!

Daniel modeled his Gaston costume for us with the pants and boots I just got for it.

We went to Caity Kellis Clinger's wedding reception last night. It was held in the Kellis's backyard. It was gorgeous!!! It was a fun surprise to see Mr. and Mrs. Heck there. We all had a fun time catching up on life. We got to see lots of other old friends. That's one of the best parts of these events!

Laney's favorite part was seeing Daniel Kellis, of course. He is an old married man now (since last May), but, according to Laney, he will always be her eternal fiance.

It's always a good time when Jen and I get together. You never know what might happen.

Richard got talking with Jace Clinger's dad, the father of the groom. One of  Richard's great-grandmothers is Lillie May Clinger, so they got on Relative Finder to see if they were related. They are 3rd cousins once removed. Small world!

It's always hard to say goodbye.

Saturday morning, the kids went and did a service project organized by the city of Surprise. They served breakfast and then split in to groups to conquer different projects. Our kids ended up serving at Eve's Place, a place that helps abused women. They cleaned toys and sorted clothing. Sara brought Hannah, her friend from school.

Then they sang a duet of "I Am A Child Of God" in the singles ward. It was great! They did a beautiful job.

Today, after church, Sara, Laney and Susanna had fun spinning each other around in the big chest we use for blankets. I am not sure what made them think to do this, but they giggled and giggled together as they played.

Tonight, Sara is singing at the Trek kick off fireside. She is singing "Oceans: Where Feet May Fail" with Lauren Ruff accompanied by Braedi Mecham on piano and Laurel Ruff on the cello. I have heard them practice and it is going to be gorgeous!
