Utah Day 3

Saturday morning, we picked up Sammy! He had just finished his first week of being a counselor at EFY. He learned a lot and had a great time. We spent a little while relaxing at Marilyn and Randy's house and then Andrew, Freddy and Daniel went bridge jumping with Connor and his friend, while Sam, Sara and I went to the Springville Art Museum. Howard Lyon's painting of Sara, titled Waiting for Proserpina, had won their portraits of women contest and we wonted to see the original painting while it was still hanging there.

They had a beautiful indoor courtyard with a piece of moving art that had water running through it. It was really interesting and sounded so relaxing.

This sculpture was made by our recent acquaintance, Tyson Snow. It was huge and stunningly beautiful!

This one is Shari Lyon's piece called the warmth of blue.

And then there was the piece we had come for, Waiting for Proserpina by Howard Lyon, modeled by Sara. It was even more beautiful in person. It is impossible to get the same colors in a photograph that you see with your naked eye. It really is amazing!

It was fun to tell people that Sara was the model and some of them figured it out on their own.

When we got back to Marilyn and Randy's house, we were all exhausted. We lay on the bed and Sam shared the memes that his EFY kids made of his old Facebook photos. They really did make hundreds of them. These were our favorites.

There were ducklings on campus.

The all thought it was weird that he covered his bagel in sriracha sauce.

The theme for EFY was Find Joy.

It was fun to have Sammy with us since we don't get to hang out with him often anymore. We watch some Dry Bar Comedy with him and had lots of good laughs. The boys had a fun time bridge jumping. They said that Connor's friend was an insanely crazy driver and they were all glad to have made it back alive. It was a great Saturday!
